Meals on Wheels Brings Thanksgiving Joy to Homebound Tulsans

Thanksgiving is a time for community, gratitude, and giving back, and Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa made sure over 1,000 homebound neighbors felt that spirit this year. With the help of more than 150 volunteers, the organization delivered warm, traditional Thanksgiving meals to those who may otherwise have been alone during the holiday.

For many, volunteering with Meals on Wheels has become a tradition, as families and individuals come together to provide not just meals but also meaningful connections. Volunteers share more than just food; they bring smiles, conversation, and companionship to those who need it most.

This year, Fox 23 News featured Meals on Wheels in a heartwarming story that highlights the impact of this Thanksgiving tradition. From the experiences of long-time volunteers like Lindsey Isom, who have made volunteering a family affair, to newcomers like Steph West, who found joy in being the only smiling face some clients saw on Thanksgiving, the story captures the powerful connections made through these deliveries.
